What We Build When We Come Together

At Mutt Data, we believe culture isn’t what you write down — it’s what you live. That’s why once a year, we pause our projects and come together as a team for our Annual Mutters Trip. It’s our way of celebrating who we are, how far we’ve come, and why we choose to grow together. We talk a lot about culture, values, and what it means to grow without losing what makes us unique. But sometimes, words aren’t enough. That’s why we create spaces for mutters to connect — from office hangouts and team-building activities to the AMT (Annual Mutters Trip) , our biggest celebration of the year.

Organizing this trip becomes more complex as our team grows. But it’s a challenge we gladly embrace. Because these moments, where we connect beyond daily work, are what keep our culture alive and evolving.

2024 Edition – Tigre, Buenos Aires 🇦🇷🌿

For three days, we disconnected from routine and reunited in a private island in the Tigre Delta, surrounded by nature, games, talks, laughter (lots of laughter!), and moments that only happen when we’re all together 💛

Day 1 – Warm Welcomes & Team Stories 🛥🎉🧉

Thursday afternoon kicked off the adventure. We met at the Tigre Ferry Station, ID in hand, ready to board. After a boat ride, we arrived at Eco Delta Hotel & Spa, our home for the next three days.

Seeing +130 Mutters come together in one place — some meeting for the first time — was truly energizing. Laughter, hugs and bright conversations filled the air and the space. It was a powerful reminder of the community we’re building together.

The first moment of connection was the welcome snack, where one could only hear chats, introductions, loud laughter, and the joy of seeing each other in person. But before that, we kicked things off with a warm welcome talk — a space to connect, align, and feel the energy of being united by a shared purpose.

Several Mutters shared their journeys at Mutt: how they started, what they’ve learned along the way, and the people who made an impact on them. We heard incredible stories — from someone working in hospital servicing to becoming a data engineer, from an audio engineer who also transitioned into data, to a science communicator who now proudly calls themselves a data nerd. What all these stories had in common was how, in Mutt, they found a real opportunity — a place where they were trusted, supported, and given the chance to grow and build a career. It was one of the most inspiring parts of the day — there were laughs, heartfelt thank-yous, and yes... a few happy tears. 💛

And just when we thought the emotions were over, surprise! Everyone found a gift waiting for them in their rooms: a mate kit and a Mutt t-shirt — so we could all carry pieces of Mutt’s culture around🧉💛 Later, we shared dinner and took part in a special icebreaker activity to start the trip full of energy. The night closed with a beautiful and emotional bonfire — a moment to pause, connect, and reflect under the stars. ✨🔥

Day 2: Games, Sunshine & Karaoke ☀️🏐🎤

Friday began with a relaxed breakfast and a splashy outdoor challenge! After lunch, we danced, laughed, and tested our music knowledge with salsa, bachata, and reggaetón rounds. Then came one of the highlights: a raft-building treasure hunt! We split into teams and got creative, trying to keep our DIY rafts afloat. 🌊🪢 It was the perfect space for our values to shine: teamwork, ownership, and a ton of fun. Later, everyone chose their adventure: soccer, pool, spa, mini-golf, or just chilling in nature. That evening brought a group dinner and a karaoke night full of unexpected talent — Mutters can code and sing!

✨ Day 3: Purpose, Prizes & Goodbyes💛🥁

Our founder, Juan Pampliega, gave the closing talk at the AMT, sharing insights about Mutt’s future and what we hope to achieve next year and beyond.

And since fun is never missing at Mutt, after an inspiring talk about the strategy and direction for next year (and beyond), we wrapped things up with some friendly competition: best meme creator, best Muttito design, and more! 🎉🙌 We laughed, we celebrated, and we proved once again why we’re known for our epic memes and good vibes every day. 😄🔥

Before saying goodbye, we shared a barbecue under the sun — the perfect moment to enjoy one last long-table chat, heartfelt hugs, and laughter. To wrap up the experience, we took part in a drumming activity to continue reinforcing one of our strongest values: teamwork. United in rhythm, we reaffirmed that together, we can achieve so much more. Now it’s time to say goodbye and head home — but it’s not really goodbye, it’s see you soon. The memories we’ve created together will stay with us, and now it’s time to relive this incredible journey hand in hand with our teammates — the ones who made it all so special.

Our Culture, Unplugged: Playlist, Games & What Makes Us Mutt 🎶🎲

Beyond all the planning that goes into this trip, it’s the Mutters who make it magical. Every edition gets better thanks to the energy, creativity, and vibes each person brings — from the collaborative playlist that became our soundtrack, to the stories, games, jokes, and spontaneous music that filled every corner.

There was time to recharge too: sunscreen, water, spa moments, and simply chilling out 😌🧴. And as soon as we got back, our Slack was buzzing — photos, reflections, memes, and memories that reminded us how lucky we are to share this ride.

Because being a Mutter isn’t just about the work we do. It’s about co-creating something bigger — a culture that lives in the way we connect, collaborate, care, and push each other to grow.
